There is a 10 year ‘initial repair period’ for some newer shared ownership properties, which means some shared owners can claim for repair costs of up to £500 per year. To check if you can claim for repairs in your property, please refer to ‘key document 3’ in your sales documentation. You would also have received an Essential Repairs Statement in your handover pack, which provides further details of repairs you can claim for.
